Longtermhandstand FUTURE is an invitation for elementary and high school classes to step into the world of contemporary art without pressure, without “right answers,” and definitely without boring museum vibes. During our interactive gallery visits, students get to discover current exhibitions up close, talk about what they see, ask questions, share opinions, and connect the artworks to their own thoughts and everyday experiences. The program is adapted to the age group of each class, so younger and older students can all find their own way into the exhibition.
The goal is not to teach art from a textbook, but to create a space where curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, openness, and empathy can grow naturally. We believe that contemporary art is not only for experts. It can be surprising, funny, strange, beautiful, confusing, exciting, and most importantly, personal. Through FUTURE, we would like to make this experience accessible to young people and show that art can be something they can relate to, discuss, and enjoy.
The program is free for schools.
We also warmly welcome companies and organizations that would like to support this project and help us make contemporary art accessible to more young people.
If you and your class would like to join us for a gallery visit, or if your company or organization would like to support FUTURE, please get in touch using the form below or email us at future@longtermhandstand.art — we would love to hear from you!
